Category Strategy Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
The Category Strategy Analyst will work with Category Strategy Manager for designated categories to help develop and communicate our pricing, promotion and merchandising strategies to achieve brand objectives in the market. The incumbent will effectively manage trade responsibilities for monthly reporting and tracking processes: data collection and analysis, forecasting communication, category business review insights, trade funds approvals, distribution objectives, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY
- Assist in the refinement, communication and execution of our brand trade strategies, including actionable insights, price, promotion, distribution, assortment and shelving.
- Collaborate with shopper marketing, shopper insights, category leadership, sales teams, finance and brand teams to help in developing sell stories associated with customer investment, new product launches and key marketing initiatives.
- Support trade promotion optimization, development and maintenance of trade budgets, in order to implement the annual trade and brand plans, and deliver the company sales and profit objectives.
- Own sales volume tracking, updates as required for assigned categories (Flyer tracking, planogram schedules, listing fees, new product distribution, competitive pricing)
- Collaborate with project teams to execute commercialization initiatives
- Help develop effective and innovative co-marketing merchandising programs, tools, and creative sell stories.
- Participate in the annual planning process in conjunction with brand and sales teams, to implement the trade strategies, sales jobs to be done and brand consumer plans.
- Help to develop annual forecasts and plans for each brand. Monitor performance and recommend alternative plans if necessary to achieve targets. Manage the monthly forecasting process.
- Monthly and Quarterly Business Review tracking updates for respective categories
- Monitor and analyze competitive trade activities; assess implications and recommend indicated action.
- Support post promotion analysis and future forecasts, looking for trade investment efficiencies, growth opportunities and best practice sharing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree, diploma or relevant experience
- 1-2 years of sales or analyst experience
- Strong communication skills, effective relationship building with a high level of initiative
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and organization skills .
- Strong computer skills with a knowledge of AC Nielsen capabilities preferred
- Creative Thinking
