Job Summary

As aTechnicianatYorkdale Volkswagen, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles to brand and dealership standards. You will communicate findings, complete work efficiently and accurately, follow all safety, regulatory, and warranty procedures, and collaborate with the Parts Department. The role also includes supervising apprentices as assigned, participating in ongoing training, and supporting the Service Department in delivering exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles to brand and dealership standards.
• Communicate findings clearly and collaborate with Service Advisors and the Parts Department.
• Examine vehicles for additional repair or maintenance needs and recommend solutions to the Service Advisor or Shop Foreman.
• Document all work accurately and follow safety, warranty, and regulatory procedures.
• Road test vehicles as required to ensure repairs are complete.
• Supervise apprentices as assigned and participate in ongoing training and brand certifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper care of tools and vehicles.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, including proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions promptly to the Shop Foreman or Service Manager.
• Support the Service Department in delivering exceptional customer experience, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
• Perform additional duties as requested by management to help the team succeed.

Qualifications

• Valid310S Ontario License
• Automotive dealer experience; Volkswagen experience an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the role
• Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
• Able to operate manual and automatic transmissions
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record

Hours

• Full-time, up to 40 hours/week
• Monday–Saturday, with one evening shift every three weeks

Working Conditions

• Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite frequent interruptions.
• Frequent handling of queries from manager, tower operator, service advisors, and other departments.
• Fast-paced and multi-tasking required.
