In Millshop it’s all about preparing quality parts for our customers throughout
assembly. We take lumber and shape it to the profiles required. For each order of windows and doors we work closely with Break Out, Wood Inventory, and Paintline to produce the right part with the right profile!
If you have a passion for machine operating, with strong organizational skills
while paying attention to details, and are able to safely lift 50 pounds frequently, we invite you to apply for the Sr Machine Operator (Moulder) position in Millshop. This is a full-time, permanent position on the day shift.
Shift: Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm.
In this position, you will
- Operate equipment according to safe operating procedures
- Ensure components are within tolerances, meeting specifications and quality standards
- Prioritize workload based on optimal set up times
- Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards
- Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and is sufficiently supplied with parts
- Identify, address, and communicate all possible situations regarding production, quality, personnel, and safety to leadership
- Train team members in the area focusing on quality, and safety
- Participate in team continuous improvement and 5S activities
- Flex and cross train as required
You will bring
- Positive work experience in current position
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written
- Detail oriented
- Basic math skills
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage workload
- Ability to work independently within a team environment, motivating team members
- Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly
The following are considered assets
- Previous experience operating similar equipment
- Able to interpret drawings
- Accurately use a caliper and tape measure
- Knowledge of Loewen quality standards
