About the role
K.I.B. Building Restoration Inc. is a Leader in building restoration across Southern Ontario since 1999. Now we are l ooking for a Project Coordinator/Estimator to join the team!
The purpose of the Project Coordinator/Estimator role will report to Project Manager and support the Project Manager to ensure communication on a project and complete the projects with outstanding quality, and safety on each and every jobsite.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparing budgets and construction schedules, setting up project administration files;
- With direction from the Project Managers and the Senior Management team, initiating and maintaining correspondence with owner, architect, engineers, sub-trades and suppliers, project employees and foremen;
- Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotes;
- Assist with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers, and K.I.B. foremen and work force;
- Develop successful relationships with current and prospective clients and consultants;
- Ensuring there is a continuous focus on safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our company health and safety policy;
- Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies and prepare and maintain various reports and records
- Assist and prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, quotes, and tender;
- Monitor and coordinate daily activities with the client, contractors, foremen, project employees, other consultants, and the approving authority;
- Manage all aspects of projects and implement contract documents;
- Assist with initial mobilization and set up of the construction site;
- Ensure the efficient use of labor, machines, and materials used by the crew;
- Take an active role in the selection, training, assignment and supervision of project staff, including monitoring performance, providing feedback and taking corrective action;
- Perform periodic field inspections of projects both prior to and during construction to determine compliance with approved plans and regulations at the request of inspectors;
- Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications, the city codes and ordinances regarding building codes, permit issuance, and permit fees;
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or related field
- Minimum 2 years of working experience as a project coordinator in construction Industry
- Skilled in reading construction documents, understanding construction scopes and specifications, and exterior restoration
- Ability to multi-task between multiple projects
- Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, business management skills and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
- Detailed-oriented and results driven
- Must be initiative-taking with a desire to always improve both personally and professionally
- Ability to work as part of team
- Must have valid G level drivers license
- Able to lift 50lbs
