About the role
Pay: CA$18.00 - CA$19.00 per hour Job description: As our Shopify Developer, you will take ownership of our website performance and development. You’ll transform Figma designs into high-performing Shopify pages, improve user experience, and build scalable solutions that directly impact revenue. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Shopify storefront (frontend & backend) Convert Figma designs into Shopify pages Customize and optimize Shopify themes (primarily Dawn) Build new features and integrations to improve UX Create responsive pages across mobile and desktop Troubleshoot bugs and ensure site stability Implement scalable solutions aligned with business goals Collaborate closely with the founder and designer Provide regular updates on progress and deliverables Requirements Proven experience in Shopify development Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid Experience with Shopify APIs and third-party integrations Familiarity with themes like Dawn and frameworks like Hydrogen Experience with backend languages (PHP, Ruby, or Python) is a plus Strong understanding of SEO and performance optimization Proficiency in Figma and pixel-perfect implementation Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively Strong communication and time management skills Nice to Have Experience working in e-commerce or with SMEs Knowledge of payment gateways, shipping systems, and tax setups Previous experience working with Canadian businesses Shopify certifications
