Your Role As our Ultrasound Acoustic Test Engineer, you'll play a vital role in the ongoing development and release of high-quality ultrasound scanners used across a wide range of medical applications. Working within our V&V Engineering team, you'll ensure our scanners meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory safety requirements. Your work will directly enable medical practitioners around the globe to use our scanners safely and effectively to improve patient care.
Your Responsibilities Include: Planning and performing acoustic output testing on ultrasound scanners to fulfill regulatory requirements and standards Performing acoustic output calculations, analysis, and measurement accuracy testing, and preparing formal reports for internal and external use Improving current testing procedures, including writing scripts to automate steps of the acoustic testing process Contributing to the development of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on requirements and design documents Assisting with software functional, regression, and integration testing for new implementations and changes to existing software Identifying, analyzing, and documenting issues found during testing (software defects, bugs, functionality issues, and output errors), then working directly with software developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures Providing regular feedback to developers, including recommendations for improvements, evaluation of problems, potential solutions, and further test requirements Performing product testing based on applicable medical device and electrical safety standards Liaising with the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs teams to provide data, documentation, and support for any potential regulatory or safety issues that may affect product release
Your Experience So Far: Diploma or B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering/Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline 2+ years of experience carrying out laboratory tests, analyzing results, and writing reports Familiarity with IEC 60601-2-37:2010 and other relevant international regulations for ultrasound acoustic safety testing In-depth knowledge and experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and thermocouples Proficiency in MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar simulation tools Competence in mathematical and statistical analysis Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes, software testing best practices, and testing methodologies Familiarity with source versioning, problem reporting, and continuous integration systems (SVN, Git, JIRA, Jenkins) Hands-on experience testing mobile (Android, iOS) and web apps, plus familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Microsoft Azure, is an asset A thorough, detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills An action-oriented mindset with the ability to learn new technologies and quickly put them into practice
