Senior Director, Site Operations
About the role
As the Senior Director, Site Operations for the Central City Brewery & Distillery, home to a portfolio of owned brands like Red Racer and a trusted partner in contract manufacturing, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of one of the region’s most recognized production sites. This is a transformative leadership opportunity where you will drive innovation, champion sustainability, and unlock growth by delivering operational excellence at scale.
You will develop and execute a forward-thinking operations strategy that not only delivers best-in-class safety, quality, and performance, but also positions the site as a model for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement. With a strong focus on innovation and long-term value creation, you will lead a high-performing, inclusive team that embraces change, challenges the status quo, and fuels progress.
Your ability to connect supply chain strategy to business growth will be key in optimizing asset utilization, production planning, inventory management, warehousing, and customer fulfillment. By integrating sustainable practices and driving cross-functional collaboration, you will help accelerate the site’s contribution to the company’s broader goals, while enhancing its reputation as a forward-looking, growth-oriented operation.
Core Duties And Responsibilities Strategic Planning (30%)
- Lead and accelerate the implementation of Manufacturing Operations Standards at your site so that the organization can sustain and optimize its operating model
- Implement ManEx methodologies with a focus on building a high-performance culture resulting in enviable safety, quality, service, and cost performance.
- Establish appropriate ways of working that are aligned to Mark Anthony’s values and behavior framework and ensure that team members espouse them.
- Have an inclusive style that will capture the ideas from the team and help develop the activities aligned to the organization’s objectives.
- Develop a 3-year Site Strategic Plan and annual Hoshin Plan.
- Conduct annual goal alignment to ensure site leadership goals are aligned.
- Maintain a 90 Day Plan, and report monthly on key performance indicators (KPI).
- Measure and deliver performance against capital expenditure strategy and process manufacturing strategy.
Technical Functions (25%)
- Coordinate results of production and support departments to assure that labor, ingredients, and equipment resources for product production and support services are utilized effectively.
- Manage the manufacturing process for our products with an emphasis on Safety, People, Quality, Customer Service and Cost.
- Manage proprietary information and processes with confidentiality.
- Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; identifying and implementing changes where needed.
Logistical Functions (25%)
- Maintains communication between Canadian Supply Demand and the operations group to ensure that orders are filled, and that product meets the needs of sales in terms of quality, consistency, and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure consistency among processes and procedures.
Team & Leadership Functions (20%)
- Evaluate talent and make personnel decisions that create an environment of inclusiveness, mutual trust and understanding consistent with the Mark Anthony culture.
- Develop departmental leaders to effectively manage autonomous working teams responsible for brewing, batching, and packaging operations running on a 24/7 schedule.
- Involvement with the local community, including creating and maintaining a relationship with local governance and organizations to support the employment of a diverse workforce.
Requirements Qualifications, Education, & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- At least 10-15 years manufacturing and plant management experience, including at least 10 years of experience in high speed, multi-SKU manufacturing and packaging facility.
- Expertise in the operation and use of high-speed automated production equipment; Understanding of food production standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Proven ability to create and manage operating budgets of at least $10M.
- Experience initiating and managing capital projects from conception to completion including calculating ROI and influencing decision makers for approval.
- Working knowledge of BRCGS, GMP, JSA, and HACCP food safety as it relates to the manufacturing process.
- Lean Six Sigma Certified Preferred
- Working knowledge of Federal & Provincial requirements for alcoholic beverages including tax policy, formulations & labeling preferred.

- Proven ability to develop, motivate, and empower employees while fostering an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
- Demonstrated success in management of direct reports across a multi-shift operation.
- Ability to manage and implement quality requirements including product specifications and sensory evaluation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to negotiate and influence effectively with internal and external partners.
- Ability to make quick decisions with limited information that are in the best interest of the company.
- Proficient in the identification, management and resolution of risk relating to raw materials, ingredients, processes and products, and willingness to proactively take necessary precautions to minimize risk.
- Effective business systems thinker with a good understanding of business process knowledge.
