About the Job
Shuswap Lake General Hospital is a 42-bed hospital in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap health service area. Located in Salmon Arm, B.C., the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient, obstetrics and 24-hour emergency. Our caseload is quite varied and as this site is a smaller STAT Lab, it allows for a great learning environment. Medical Laboratory Technologist’s (MLT) rotate through Chemistry, Hematology Coag, Transfusion Medicine and the manual bench, processing blood, urine, body fluids and CSFs on site. Typical duties may include performing routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated analyzers, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, validating/reporting test results, maintaining analyzers and preparing solutions and control agents.
This is a Permanent Part Time (0.74) opportunity working rotating days, evenings and nights

Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program

Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
