About the role:
We are seeking a Lead Analyst, Business Analytics to join our team as a key driver in transforming and advancing Medcan’s analytics and insights maturity. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic business partnership to build scalable data solutions, robust governance frameworks, and AI-enabled insights. You will partner with and support critical functions across the organization, including financial analysis, product and sales growth, marketing and lead management, and operational utilization.
As a senior member of the team, you will architect sustainable solutions, consult business leaders through insights storytelling, and mentor team members in developing analytics products. Success in this dynamic environment requires both advanced technical skills and a strong relationship management mindset.
What You’ll Do:
Advanced Data Analysis & Reporting
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of analytics solutions using Microsoft Synapse, Power BI, Copilot Studio, and Generative AI to support business decision-making and operational efficiency
- Design and build AI-enhanced (Co-Pilot, AI Agents, etc…) analytics solutions to improve predictive models for clinical, operational, and business metrics.
- Perform complex ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decisions in marketing, sales, finance, and product management.
- Translate business requirements into actionable insights and present findings to executive and operational audiences.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to business units, proactively identifying opportunities for data-driven improvements.
- Communicate insights through compelling visualizations and storytelling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations and drive business outcomes.
Project Leadership & Work Supervision
- Oversee the technical quality and delivery of analytics projects, providing informal supervision and guidance to junior analysts.
- Mentor and coach team members on best practices in analytics, data visualization, and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
AI & Automation Exploration

Research and prototype AI-driven solutions, including automation tools and Copilot Agents Framework.

Identify opportunities to integrate AI and automation into reporting and decision-making processes.

Drive initiatives for process automation, reporting efficiency, and analytics innovation. Stay current on industry trends, analytics methodologies, and emerging technologies.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5-8+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics consulting.
- 3-5+ years of BI architecture, or data strategy roles, with proven expertise in semantic modeling and governance.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI (or similar BI tools), SQL, Python/R and data modeling; familiarity with AI/ML concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex insights effectively.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and strong analytical thinking by proactively exploring data, asking insightful questions, and digging into root causes to uncover meaningful insights
- Experience mentoring or supervising analytics work (without direct reports). Familiarity with commercial analytics, healthcare analytics and regulatory compliance (PHIPA preferred).
This is a full-time hybrid position (2 days in office) working 40 hours per week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday – Saturday (8 AM - 5 PM). Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!
