Job Description We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Contaminated Sites Scientist to join our team in Whitehorse .
You have environmental consulting experience in contaminated site assessments and an understanding of the regulatory environment in the Yukon. You want to work in a dynamic team environment and actively contribute to a variety of interesting and challenging projects.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Field surveys and travel to remote locations.
- Writing work plans and proposals, technical reports, and communications for non-technical audiences.
- Soil, surface water, vapour and groundwater quality investigations.
- Data management, analysis and reporting
- Collaborating with a dynamic team of environmental scientists and engineers across various geographies.
- Building professional relationships with clients and regulators.
Job Requirements
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree in an environmental discipline (e.g., biology, environmental science, geography, earth science, or soil/reclamation science).
- 5+ years' experience with contaminated sites science.
- Excellent written and spoken communication.
- Proficiency with software for word processing, data management, and presentations.
- Ability to work well under pressure, track progress on multiple tasks, and meet deadlines within a team environment.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards for the practice.
- Valid driver's licence.
