Job Summary:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the community? As our Director of Community Services, you'll lead and innovate across multiple programs, including our Adult Day Program, Community Programs (Meals on Wheels and Community Wellness), In Home Services, Transportation, and Social Work. The Director leads key strategic initiatives including client assessment, an Accreditation Team, Toronto Ride and a variety of donor funded projects such as transitional care teams, the Food and Wellness Care Kits Program and the Brain Health Project. The Director also develops and leads processes, systems and stakeholder relationships as part of the North Toronto Ontario Health Team.
What you will do:
- Oversee the effective operation of all community service programs.
- Develop and strengthen community partnerships.
- Provide leadership to agency-wide initiatives including identifying and developing key partnerships, integration and service enhancements.
- Manage applicable agency contracts and vendor relationships.
- Initiate, lead and support initiatives and projects that align with best practices and SPRINT Senior Care’s strategic plan.
- Manage, coach and mentor assigned staff, ensuring alignment the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives of the organization
- Initiate, direct and oversee service delivery and outreach activities that support the organization’s philosophy and strategic direction.
- Lead continuous quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
- Monitor and manage service delivery against budgeted service units.
- Analyze and evaluate services, developing and measuring quality improvement plans.
- Lead privately funded projects and ensure accountability by preparing quarterly and annual funding reports with deliverables for private donors and update policies, procedures and guidance to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Contribute actively to the management team, ensuring the agency’s effectiveness and growth are in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Oversee health and safety for Community Services, ensuring policies, procedures and legislative requirements are adhered to.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Provide back up support to directors and leadership team members as needed.
- Participate in the Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Anti-Racism (EIDA-R) and First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Urban Indigenous (FNIMUI) framework and planning for the agency.
- Lead the Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee.
What You Will Bring:
- Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Five years management experience with direct supervision of a team.
- Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Resourceful, creative and innovative with a can-do attitude.
- Must have strong client service, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, with an intrinsic desire to make a difference.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead and facilitate group presentations, meetings and training.
- Must have effective organizational skills including prioritization, delegation, managing multiple priorities and problem-solving.
- Previous experience in identifying and building relationships to meet strategic objectives.
- Experience in managing change initiatives impacting an organization or departments.
- Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Suite. Experience using Excel for data analysis.
- Experience using a client database. Experience with Alayacare is an asset.
- Sensitive to working with people of diverse economic, age and cultural backgrounds and marginalized individuals, with an understanding of cultural competency and social determinants of health.
