POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for providing consultation and support for the departments creative and digital media programs and services; identifies and assists with project requirements; oversees the production and design of department digital media and websites; and aids in the development of annual business plans.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.
- Develop, implement, and monitor creative and digital media for the department.
- Oversees the production and design of departmental communication, marketing, and digital design needs.
- Provides subject matter expert advice and recommendations applying current knowledge of best practices and applicable legislative, regulatory, and professional standards.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements program deliverables and initiatives, modifying priorities as required to meet objectives.
- Creates metrics and measures to track projects and initiatives and makes recommendations for future changes.
- Develops customer engagement centric actionable reports on behalf of the department.
- Develops relationships with internal program stakeholders to improve program engagement and facilitate the delivery of services. Oversees the departments digital portfolio, including digital asset management and implementation, training, creation, design and content oversight for applicable websites, and contributions to the York Region website, intranet, department specific mobile applications, social media, and multimedia programs, in accordance with the Corporate Strategic Plan.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a College Diploma in Web Design, Communications, Media, or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience in website management, process redesign, digital communications/media and graphic design and minimum of 1 (one) year direct supervisory experience.
- Relevant experience in current technology trends to support customer communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts and Regulations.
- Demonstrated ability in the Region’s leadership and corporate core competencies.
- Experience with visual communication principles.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license free of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
