Job Description
We are currently looking for a DISPATCHER/CSR at our Belleville location.
This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday, onsite at our office located at 659 College St. East.
The purpose of this position is to broker freight for Canadian and US customers, handle LTL and FTL shipments, and build and maintain relationships with carriers, and negotiate rates.
BOOKING/DISPATCHING FREIGHT:
- Enter loads into system from customers.
- Finding the proper carrier partner to handle the pick-up and delivery required by customer.
- Negotiate rate with partner carriers.
- Book outbound loads with dispatch utilizing Load Link, and contacting carriers.
- Take orders and build trips for carriers.
- Build truck manifests for the dock in order to load/unload freight.
- Problem solving needed to ensure the freight gets from shipper to receiver in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot with custom brokers if any issues arise with freight clearing into Canada.
- Follow proper hand-off procedures at end of shift.
ASSIST CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Track and/or trace some broker orders in a timely manner and provide customers and our internal departments with current ETA’s, ensuring that the tracking of the waiting times, accessorial(s) that are requested on the spot and followed up with and revised Load Confirmations are being received and system updated.
- Set up load confirmations and ensure all information is received with accurate appointment, rates, and PO#’s. Update revised load confirmations as they are received.
- Book appointments for inbound/outbound deliveries as required. Update the system/spreadsheet and communicate the appointment information to required internal people.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, Employees are expected to demonstrate competency in all responsibilities listed above, in addition, to the following:
EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Post-Secondary training in logistics, preferably in the transportation industry.
EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years experience in the transportation industry

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 5:30pm, Friday, 10:00am - 7:00pm for the first 3 months
After 3 months: Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 6:00pm, Friday, 10:00am - 7:00pm
