Should this temporary vacancy be filled by a regular full-time employee, seniority and benefits will continue in the normal manner and the regular employee will continue to maintain normal, full-time status for the duration of the appointment.

Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, is responsible for accounts receivable billing and processing and for revenue records and performs duties relative to accounts receivable. Provides technical direction and guidance to staff in relation to recreation management software, revenues and accounts receivables.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates and processes invoices and monitors the accuracy of the recreation management software and other applicable systems.
- Audits and reconciles daily deposits of revenue received in the general office.
- Provides technical direction and guidance, training, and support to Departmental staff in relation to recreation management software and accounts receivables, and is responsible for the financial monitoring of recreation management and other applicable software systems
- Participates in the review, testing, and implementation of Departmental financial systems.
- Audits and validates Change Funds.
- Audits and maintains records and reports of arrears accounts listed in collection with a collection agency.
- Audits and maintains financial, statistical, and donation records, reports, and contracts.
- Audits revenue summary reports for cash batches.
- Controls and monitors accounts receivable and the completion of year-end reconciliations and participates in City audit of all revenues.
- Prepares and processes journal entries; performs general accounting duties, account reconciliations and customer account adjustments for various general ledger account analyses.
- Audits refunds and maintains related files.
- Training staff in cash handling procedures, daily deposits, and accurate completion of journals.
- Liaises with City divisions and public on a regular basis and responds to customer inquiries regarding billing, N.S.F. cheques and past due accounts, collection, and accounts receivable information.
- Reviews and analyses revenue data for exceptions and variances and prepares reports.
- Audits and reconciles payroll deductions for Golf Courses, Marina, and Canada Games Complex.
- Maintains and updates all procedure manuals.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Minimum secondary school graduation together with post-secondary courses in accounting; and
- Two years’ experience using a computer-based accounting system, including accounts receivable experience; and
- Two years’ demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating training registration software or demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating training with another applicable software system
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Abilities:
- A good understanding of computer systems
- Must be at a basic skill level in word processing, and an intermediate skill level in spreadsheet software and possess basic on-line data entry skills
- Must possess good public relation skills and deal with the public and staff in a tactful and courteous manner
Assets:
- Experience with SAP software
- Experience with recreation management software (i.e. CLASS, Perfect Mind etc.)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
- Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
