POSITION: Elementary Primary Teacher
ASSIGNMENT: French Immersion (K-1)
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: École Red Bluff Lhtako
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2025 and continuing
Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch AND possesses one or more of the following:
Training Specialization: Elementary Education with a specialization in French Immersion at the Primary Level
Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching French Immersion at the Primary Level
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff
Additional Qualifications:
- Fluency in English/French – oral/written – applicant must be willing to take a language proficiency test – oral and written
Other:
- Proficiency in written and oral communication in French
- Willingness to have an interview in French with the District's French Language Coordinator
- Willingness to work as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan
- Willingness to work as a member of the school-based team
- Willingness to support whole school environmental initiatives
- Commitment to the school-wide Positive Behaviour Support program as a form of addressing behaviour in the classroom and the school as a whole
- Fluent English and French Speaker
- Willingness to support the School plan for student success
- Willingness to work as part of the School-based team to implement plans for all students
- A portion of the interview may be conducted in French
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
