Program Eligibility:
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or valid work permit).

Your Opportunity at SECURE:
This role will support SECURE’s Environmental team by assisting with compliance, monitoring, and reporting activities tied to regulatory requirements and environmental commitments. The student will gain hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, regulatory engagement, and project coordination within a fast-paced energy services company.
The Team:
The student will join SECURE’s Environmental group, working closely with specialists who oversee environmental compliance, remediation, and monitoring programs. This collaborative team environment provides mentorship while encouraging initiative, problem-solving, and exposure to real-world regulatory practices.
A Day in The Life:
- Develop a plan to ensure compliance with Remedial Action Plan commitments through the Alberta Energy Regulator’s online submission system (OneStop).
- Assist with the management of SECURE’s groundwater monitoring portfolio, including data tracking and field coordination.
- Liaise with consultants and laboratories to develop monitoring program budgets and coordinate deliverables.
- Prepare and issue quote requests for consultants; assist with vendor selection processes.
- Track and monitor budgets, highlighting variances or risks to the team.
- Assist in reviewing environmental monitoring reports prior to regulator submission.
- Research and interpret applicable regulations and acts, identifying relevance to SECURE’s operations.
- Support updates to the 5-year Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) budget by capturing ancillary costs.
- Assist with data entry, analysis, and preparation of summary materials for internal stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and organizational support for ongoing environmental projects.
