Job Overview:

As a UX Designer at Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), you will focus on creating intuitive, engaging, and seamless experiences for players.

Whilst this position is being offered on a remote basis, we are only able to consider applicants who are currently located in BC, and ideally within the greater Vancouver area

Requirements

In this role, you will:

Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that communicate the user experience and functionality of our games Design and iterate on game mechanics, player flows, and user interfaces Conduct user research to understand player's needs and preferences Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights Work closely with game developers to ensure the user experience is implemented to a high standard Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business goals and player feedback Help establish and maintain design standards for the studio Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging design patterns

To be successful in this role, you must have:

Bachelor's degree in user experience, graphic design, design, or related field At least 2 years of experience in UX design for mobile or web applications Strong portfolio showcasing UX design skills and problem-solving ability Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite Knowledge of game development and game design principles Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

It would also be great if you had experience with:

User research, usability testing, and data analysis but must also be effective when these materials are not available A generalist game design background Working on casual games

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 CAD
