The Ministry of Highways, Fleet Service is seeking an organized, motivated Journeyperson Parts Person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide customer service to the Swift Current Fleet Repair Shop’s clients.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Identifying and ordering products and issuing, receiving and sourcing parts and inventory items.
- Processing invoices and managing and maintaining the Fleet Services inventory in the computer inventory system.
- Providing expertise and guidance to Fleet Services and its clients regarding policies, procedures and financial guidelines related to purchasing, supplies, CVAs and equipment specifications.
- Supervising and coaching Fleet Store employees and summer students.
- Assisting the Store’s team in process improvement for all aspects of service deliver.
To qualify for this position, the successful candidate will have the following:
- Journeyperson Parts Certification (consideration may be given to those candidates that are indentured and hold a valid Y2 apprenticeship OR those candidates with 8100 hours of parts person experience that are eligible to challenge the journey person exam).
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- A valid Class 5 operator’s license.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up 50 lbs.
