Stantec is looking for a Power Line Technician with versatility to support our various client's needs. The successful candidate will work with little supervision and direction, supported by a knowledgeable and experienced team, on average to large sized projects. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor that all work performed by the contractor is done in a safe, environmentally sound manner and in accordance with approved design and specifications. Where there are issues take action and follow up on resolution to any Non-Conformances.
  • Ensure that all work permits are in place, complete with the necessary checklists and supporting data, and have been completed by trained and competent individuals.
  • Support and comply with Stantec’s Project Management Ten Point Framework.
  • Provide daily reporting detailing executed work, equipment, manpower, weather, significant events or unusual circumstances and delays at the site.
  • Monitor and validate contractor progress.
  • Attend progress meetings with Contractors, client and other stakeholders as required.
  • Witness required hold points as part of overall inspection test plans for the work.
  • Review redlines that are required to be completed by contractor for any changes to design.
  • Offer practical advice on the possible resolution for items of concern that may arise during the construction, equipment installation, and commissioning phases of the project.
  • Assist in the coordination of Contractors, Operations, and other project stakeholders throughout the course of the project.
  • Support engineering design activities along with constructability of designs; and consult on hazard analysis and construction methods to support engineering design activities.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and attention to detail.
  • Sound interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of similar experience.
  • Red seal/ Journeyman Power Line Technician certification.
