About the role

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in business development, sales, or a related role, ideally in the sponsored newsletter industry with experience in the finance and crypto industries
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in newsletter monetization, email marketing, or digital advertising sales
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms, ad serving technologies, and analytics tools used in newsletter advertising
  • Start-up and mobile application experiences are highly desirable
  • Ability to identify and close new opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets in the digital advertising space
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building meaningful relationships with advertisers
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Leadership skills, such as performing presentations, training, and mentoring
  • Proactive and determined approach to securing new business
  • Adept at identifying and pursuing new business prospects

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative specializing in Sponsored Newsletter Ad Sales ad inventory sales, and email marketing.
  • As a fully remote company, our ideal candidate must be a dynamic self-starter with a proven track record in the newsletter and email marketing space.
  • The role involves identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with advertisers, and negotiating and closing deals to maximize revenue from newsletter ad inventory. This position will play a crucial part in our company's growth trajectory within the newsletter vertical
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve ad sales targets and expand our newsletter advertising network
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with advertisers interested in newsletter placements
  • Generate prospects and meetings through research, cold outreach, and professional networking within the email marketing industry
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with advertisers
  • Educate prospects on the benefits of newsletter advertising and our unique ad inventory offerings
  • Work directly with clients to optimize ad performance and maximize revenue from newsletter placements
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in newsletter monetization and email marketing
  • Identify market shifts and new opportunities in the newsletter advertising space
  • Attend industry events focused on email marketing and digital advertising to network and generate leads
  • Partner with internal teams to align our newsletter ad products and strategies with advertiser needs
  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure effective integration of ads within newsletters
  • Implement effective negotiation strategies to maximize revenue from newsletter ad inventory
