Work setting: Community-based agency. Social service or charity agency. Associations and non profit organizations. Tasks: Assess need for assistance, such as rehabilitation, financial aid or further training . Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background and career goals. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Refer clients to the appropriate external services. Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews. Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information. Identify additional/alternative services and provide referrals. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals. Leading/instructing groups. Co-ordinate workshops. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
