We are looking for a Building Maintenance to join our team on a 4-month contract, supporting the care and upkeep of our office and retail portfolio in downtown Toronto. This hands-on role plays a key part in ensuring our properties are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas, including entrances, walkways, and facilities.
- Conduct routine building and equipment inspections, reporting issues to the Operations Supervisor.
- Perform basic maintenance and repair work in common areas and tenant spaces (e.g., plumbing fixtures, drain snaking, breaker resets, light and ballast replacements, door hardware repairs, lock changes).
- Complete tenant requests such as hanging whiteboards, installing keyboard trays, and replacing window blinds.
- Use the Building Management System (Angus Anywhere) to respond promptly to tenant work orders and preventive tasks.
- Conduct weekly inspections of vacant units and report any unusual conditions.
- Assist with contractor access, site tours, and oversight of third-party work.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; provide recommendations for replenishment.
- Safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Perform other maintenance tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training an asset.
- 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance and basic repairs.
- Familiarity with Angus Anywhere or similar work order systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, mould remediation) preferred.
- Strong service orientation and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, supportive workplace culture.
