We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join the Technology Risk team in the Data and Technology department in Toronto. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Risk, you will play a key role in protecting the integrity and resilience of our technological environment. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, and advising on risks across infrastructure, applications, and digital initiatives that support OMERS’ global investment and pension operations.
You will work closely with technology and business stakeholders to ensure that risk considerations are embedded into strategic and operational decision-making. Leveraging your operational experience and knowledge of risk frameworks, you will help OMERS maintain a strong control environment, meet compliance obligations, and support innovation in a secure and sustainable way.
This role offers the opportunity to engage your curiosity and interest to emerging technologies while contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives, influence risk culture, and support OMERS’ mission to deliver sustainable, long-term value to its members.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Leading and performing risk assessments across infrastructure, applications, and emerging technologies.
Collaborating with IT operations, infrastructure, and development teams to understand system dependencies and risk exposures.
Ensuring standards are followed and risk mitigations are in place and monitored related to Technology risks, security standards and audit control findings
Creating, monitoring and reporting on key risk indicators (KRIs) and emerging risk trends to senior leadership.
Providing advice, consultation, facilitation and report to Technology leaders on their Risk management and monitoring activities
Ensuring the identification, analysis and timely reporting of inherent and residual Technology Risk
Supporting internal and external audits including report on the status of action plans relating to Audit findings
**To succeed in this role, you will have:**Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field or business administration, or related field augmented by industry related training programs and supported by work experience.
Experience:
4-6 years' experience in technology risk, IT Audit, IT Service Management or Business Analyst
Hands-on operational experience in IT infrastructure, application support, or systems administration is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge and experience with COBIT 5.
Experience with GRC platforms and risk assessment methodologies.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
Able to plan and coordinate work effectively, maintain confidentiality, and engage with stakeholders across all levels
Self-starter with proven track record of execution and results.
Great business judgment, ability to influence others and strong analytical thinking
Experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process documentation, and stakeholder engagement, is an asset
Ability to prepare presentations, status reports, process narratives and workflow diagrams.
Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint.
