What You’ll Do
- Lead the estimating and bidding process for general contracting scopes from start to finish
- Manage proposal schedules, content, budgets, contractor selection, and submissions
- Analyze drawings, specifications, schedules, and risk profiles
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop accurate, competitive estimates
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients
- Solicit pricing, manage addenda, and oversee tender closings
- Apply historical data and industry insight to continuously improve estimates
- Prepare thorough estimate handovers to the project management team
- Participate in post-bid and post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improvements
- Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes and standards
What You Bring
- 3+ years of estimating experience in civil construction
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Estimating, Engineering, or similar (an asset)
- Strong understanding of construction documents, costs, budgets, and schedules
- Solid grasp of the proposal and bidding process
- Ability to identify project risks and proactively address them
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Curious, detail-oriented, and confident asking the right questions
- Collaborative mindset with an innovative approach to problem-solving
