JOB TITLE: Temporary Part-Time Community Liaison Person of Haudenosaunee Ancestry (0.5 FTE)
LOCATION: Brantford, ON

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate provides supplementary community liaison services to secondary school pupils and supports school attendance following Ministry of Education Enrollment Register instructions. They will establish positive relationships with parents and agencies of the Six Nations community as they relate to a student’s education and act as a liaison between the Six Nations community and all secondary schools in Grand Erie having students from that community. Following up on referrals by secondary school for issues regarding poor attendance and the resulting lack of success, monitoring attendance, providing counselling support, and exploring referral to Alternative Learning opportunities with follow-up counselling are key aspects of the role. Assisting in the preparation of the annual report to the Board regarding pupils from the Six Nations community from an attendance perspective will be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Person of Haudenosaunee ancestry who is knowledgeable and demonstrates a positive working relationship with the Six Nations community
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Services field (preferably with courses in guidance and/or counselling) is required
- Experience working with Six Nations youth and their families
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education Enrollment Instructions
- Proficient in the use of computers
- Experience with PowerSchool and electronic record keeping is an asset
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required

Rate of Pay
Hiring Range: $ 29,279 to $ 32,468 annual salary
Salary Range $29,279 to $34,060 annual salary
OMERS pension plan is available (Not Mandatory)
