About the role

#Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Services & Construction

Commercial Refrigeration Experience an Asset

Lead Projects. Juggle Competing Priorities. Keep It Cool. (Literally.)

We’re looking for a high-performingSenior Project Manager based out of Edmonton or Calgarywho thrives in a fast-paced mechanical services and construction environment — someone who can manage multiple complex projects without breaking a sweat (even when the schedule says otherwise).

This is not a role for someone who prefers “one project at a time.” You’ll be balancing priorities, protecting margins, championing safety, mentoring rising stars, and building strong client relationships — sometimes all before lunch.

If you bring deep mechanical construction expertise, strong estimating capability, and the leadership presence with a flair for elevating your peers, we’d like to talk.

What You’ll Own

High-Performance Project Leadership

  • Lead multiple concurrent mechanical projects (HVAC, piping, plumbing, refrigeration).
  • Navigate competing priorities, tight timelines, and the occasional surprise — because construction.
  • Anticipate risks before they turn into problems.
  • Keep projects moving forward without letting details fall through the cracks.

If you enjoy organized chaos and turning it into structured success, you’ll fit right in.

Why This Role Matters

You will play a critical role in driving operational performance, strengthening client partnerships, and building a high-performing project team — all while delivering complex mechanical projects in a demanding environment. If this sounds exciting to you, then keep reading.

Estimating & Financial Leadership

  • Lead and support pre-construction planning and estimating strategy.
  • Turn drawings and specs into accurate budgets and executable plans.
  • Protect margins with disciplined forecasting and cost control.
  • Manage change orders and negotiations with confidence and composure.

You understand that strong execution starts long before boots hit the jobsite.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee full lifecycle delivery from award through closeout.
  • Align procurement, productivity, and subcontractor performance with project goals.
  • Maintain visibility across multiple active projects.
  • Bring structure, process, and accountability to every phase of execution.

Safety Isn’t a Slogan — It’s a Standard

  • Champion proactive safety culture across teams and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.
  • Lead safety meetings, audits, and incident reviews with authority and follow-through.

You believe the best projects are the ones where everyone goes home safe — every day.

Client & Relationship Leadership

  • Act as senior point of contact for key clients.
  • Build trusted partnerships rooted in performance and transparency.
  • Support repeat business through exceptional delivery.
  • Handle tough conversations professionally — and good news even better.

Coaching & Mentorship

  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and Coordinators.
  • Help others prioritize effectively in a high-workload environment.
  • Elevate financial discipline and client communication standards.
  • Build the next generation of project leaders.

You don’t just run projects — you build people.

Commercial Refrigeration (Strong Asset)

  • Experience with rack systems, CO₂ systems, ammonia systems, and large-scale refrigeration installations.
  • Familiarity with grocery retail, cold storage, food processing, or distribution facilities.
  • Ability to truly “keep your cool” under pressure is appreciated — refrigeration pun fully intended.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive mechanical construction project management experience.
  • Proven success managing multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
  • Strong estimating and pre-construction expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Commercial refrigeration experience is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership developing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent financial and contract management capability.
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • PMP designation considered an asset.
