About the role

The People team at OPTrust is led by Tracy Hoskins, Head of People Team. The team is responsible for the provision of human resource support across the organization including Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Total Rewards, Inclusion and Organization Effectiveness, HR Business Partnerships & Operations, Labor and Employee Relations and related operational support. This is an 8-month rotational role where you will be able to work with various teams such as Talent Acquisition, Inclusion and Organizational Effectiveness, and Total Rewards etc. We hope that by the end of your rotation with us you will have more in-depth knowledge and experience. Students will also participate in OPTrust’s orientation and campus program.

What you’ll do

  • Assist the applicable team for each rotation with daily tasks.

  • Collaborate with different teams across the organization providing HR support.

  • Support with assigned projects to complete in a timely manner related to various HR initiatives.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

What you bring

  • Enrolled in a registered university or college co-op program or new grad from a Human Resources degree, certificate, or diploma program.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience using MS Office Suite tools and applicant tracking systems such as Workday.

  • Proven time management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated experience meeting deadlines and working with confidential information.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and be resourceful to find solutions to projects and tasks.

  • Passionate about human resources sector and willingness to learn more about what we do!
