About the role

Summary:

The Prepress Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and assigning tasks related to the intake and delivery of production materials for graphics and structure, ensuring that established timelines are met. The coordinator will collaborate with internal team members, customers, external clients, and suppliers on various project requests.

The successful candidate must be able to work out of one of the PaperWorks packaging sites. Occasional travel to other sites may be required, including travel to central Prepress located at the Kitchener, Ontario, Canada site.

Responsibilities:

  • Log, prioritize, and schedule tasks requests received via various channels (verbal, electronic, or written), ensuring the accuracy of the information. This includes print items, graphic layouts, CAD designs, and Manufacturing reviews.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the printing and packaging industry, either through post-secondary education in a related field or relevant work experience in the packaging sector.
  • Experience with Esko software solutions, such as WebCenter, ArtiosCAD, Automation Engine, and CapePack, is an asset.
  • Comfortable working daily with multiple project management systems, such as AVP, Salesforce, and Project One.
  • Collaborate directly with site subject matter experts to validate production graphics and CAD files.
  • Capable of pre-flighting incoming files to ensure they are ready for production.
  • Provide support and task assignment on color management production requirements.
  • Maintain the status of departmental projects, metrice and facilitate readiness meetings.
  • Able to follow detailed written work instructions.
  • Assist other areas of PDSS as needed.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
  • Perform housekeeping and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe creative cloud gained through exposure to Prepress work
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce is an asset
  • Familiarity with Epicor business system or similar business software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain strong customer relations
  • Ability to perform detailed work with good accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
