The Estate Manager Black Hills Estate Winery is responsible for all aspects of direct-to-consumer sales at the winery, including being accountable for wine club, e-commerce, wine experiences and retail operations. The incumbent is responsible for meeting annual revenue targets, wine club membership acquisition and retention goals, as well as spearheading e-comm campaign development & communication strategy, member relations, seasonal telemarketing campaigns in accordance with annual budget plan and brand strategy.
Additionally, the Estate manager drives a culture of service excellence and operates on-site events to support member retention, wine launches and brand goals.
This is a unique leadership opportunity at our premium winery. This teammate will have a Manager, Retail and Experience as well as a Warehouse Operator and Wine Club Coordinator reporting to them and will work closely with HR, Marketing, Operations and Winemaking internally. They should have experience working with Wine Club members, Distribution Centers, Suppliers, Couriers, local media and Wine and Tourism organizations.

This teammate will be responsible for -
DTC
- Responsible for developing and delivering annual business plan including annual calendar of club and ecomm deployments to achieve stated wine club and e-commerce revenue and EBITDA plan.
- Monitor, track and analyse all KPIs that demonstrate performance of club and ecomm campaigns.
- Manage budgets and expenses including operating, distribution, and promotional costs.
- Develop wine club sales initiatives and ecomm database building initiatives at tasting room level through training, incentive programs, and employee engagement activities to support achievement of annual sign-up goals.
- Manage the logistics related to each wine club and ecomm campaigns including wine inventory availability, shipping materials/components and all resources required to ensure a flawless consumer experience related to delivery of wine packages.
- Ensure physical and digital marketing assets are developed in a timely manner to support all wine club and ecomm campaigns and ensure the accuracy of all website information.
- Develop and implement enhancements to the existing wine club program to improve member satisfaction and improved member retention.
- Drives the success of member recovery efforts and is responsible for managing customer complaints and updates (credit card fail prevention, CC recovery, contact information updates, cancellations).
- Support Wine Club Coordinator, who administrates wine club activities including member communication, orders, queries, concerns, and complaints.
- Nurture supplier relationships including those with couriers and distribution centers.
- Responsible for initiating industry leading member subscription practices while delivering service excellence to our members and ecommerce customers.
- Plan and coordinate Wine Club Member events
- Manage third-party wine club relationships to build EBITDA and reach incremental consumers.
Retail and Experiences (R+E)
- Support the R+E Manager with the development of annual business plan, to achieve annual R+E revenue and EBITDA targets.
- Work with R+E Manager to develop strategies to maximize onsite customer spending and wine club membership sales.
- Oversee teammate incentive plans to drive onsite wine revenue.
- Collaborate with R+E Manager, channel marketing and brand marketing to develop strategies to increase visitor numbers.
- Collaborate with R+E Manager and Accessory buyer to support revenue and brand goals for accessory program.
- Ensure delivery of industry-leading tastings and experiences including appropriate food program to enhance tasting experiences.
This teammate will bring -
- Post-secondary education required.
- Minimum 3 years in a wine or beverage retail/DTC sales role, at a management level.
- Wine /spirits education is preferred. Previous wine club management experience is helpful.
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office applications; Outlook and Excel.
- Strong Commercial Skills and Mindset
- Strong planning, time management, organizational and execution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to provide unsurpassed customer service.
- Proficient in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgement and function independently within authorized limits.

- Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions/hazards to their reporting Manager.
Compensation at Andrew Peller Limited is determined using competitive, local market data and reflects the skills and experience needed for each role. In some cases, we may consider compensation above the posted range for exceptional candidates who bring many years of experience.
