About your team

The Value Management Office (VMO) is a newly formed team within the Chief Administrator Office (CAO) and is responsible for the governance, strategy, planning and flow of change in the GPS change portfolio. The change portfolio is varied and constant with a broad scope supporting our customers, clients and colleagues in Global Platform Services (GPS). The VMO team are accountable for facilitating decisions, information and processes to enable the lean portfolio management for the GPS business.

About your role
The role ensures that VMO workflow runs smoothly and governance is effectively adhered to. The post holder is central to maintaining standards, documentation, and systems that enable the organization to realise, and report on, measurable value from its initiatives. They will work effectively with all stakeholders involved in change delivery to ensure alignment, feedback and a constant drive for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) process: Manage new and existing change initiatives through the Portfolio via LPM. Assess requests are in good order, aligned to strategic outcomes and demonstrate measurable value. Support assessment of initiaitives through the different LPM stages and engage with Initiative Owners to enable appropriate activity. Maintain Portfolio data, systems and controls which enable effective decision making and flow
  • Documentation, Reporting & Tracking: Maintain user guides, process docs, and VMO SharePoint/knowledge bases. Produce dashboards and packs to support Portfolio Management, value and initiaitive tracking. Maximise our data to drive insight, efficiencies and decisions.
  • Event Coordination: Support planning and execution of VMO events like Portfolio Syncs, Quarterly Planning Events and Strategic Reviews, providing valuable insights and feedback from across the Portfolio
  • Process Improvement: Apply a constant and ongoing improvement approach to all VMO activity, identifying waste and blockers to flow and pace including opportunities for automation or AI.
  • Portfolio Governance: Support alignment and adherence to Lean Portfolio Management and wider change frameworks; track actions and decisions; ensure VMO policies, templates and checklists are in place and maintained.
  • Communication & co-ordination: Build relationship and network across the organisation to support in managing across the Portfolio; more formally, help with VMO communications and co-ordination of cross-functional inputs to build the VMO brand.

About you

You will bring a proactive, detail orientated approach to agile Portfolio Management and be adaptable in your approach. You will be comfortable with Portfolio management activities aligned both to change process and the utilisation of technology and data to achieve insights and outcomes. You will communicate effectively using this to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. With experience in PMO, portfolio, or VMO environments, you have a solid understanding of project and programme lifecycles, and Agile delivery. You’re familiar with Agile and SAFe principles, value-based ways of working, and are proficient with tools that enable collaboration, automation, and agile ways of working.
