About the Role:

The Dental Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a dental practice in Canada. This position is responsible for managing patient scheduling, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating communication between patients, dental staff, and external providers. The Dental Administrator ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws while facilitating billing and insurance claim processes. By providing exceptional administrative support, this role contributes directly to enhancing patient experience and supporting clinical staff in delivering high-quality dental care. Ultimately, the Dental Administrator helps create an organized, welcoming, and professional environment that promotes the overall success of the dental practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in office administration or healthcare administration is preferred.
  • Proven experience in an administrative dental setting.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare privacy laws and dental billing procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in dental office administration or related professional credential.
  • Experience with Canadian dental insurance plans and claim processing.
  • ABELdent experience is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of basic dental terminology and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient appointment scheduling and follow-up communications to optimize daily clinic flow.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate billing processes, including insurance claims submission and payment tracking.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and resolving administrative issues.
  • Support dental staff by preparing treatment documentation and managing inventory of office supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial healthcare standards
  • Facilitate communication between dental professionals, patients, and external service providers.

The Dental Administrator utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage complex scheduling and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring seamless clinic operations.
