RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership to the Instrumentation & Controls Engineering & Design team and provide support and oversight for all Instrumentation & Controls deliverables across multiple projects.
- Manage team workload forecasting, and project assignments; provide support for recruiting and hiring for the Instrumentation & Controls team to ensure the right mix of competencies across the team.
- Support the team with mentoring, training, and career development.
- Support the development of overall company processes and procedures; lead the development and maintenance of Instrumentation & Controls-specific processes, procedures, templates, and go-bys.
- Provide support to Corporate Development with proposal inputs and manhour estimates.
- Lead a project team in developing project deliverables including: instrumentation specifications, design criteria, shutdown keys, control narratives, control schematics, loop drawings, wiring drawings, instrument indexes, layout drawings, installation details, P&ID inputs, mechanical package inputs.
- The role is envisioned to be approximately 60% technical with direct project involvement and 40% management of the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered with APEGA as a P.Eng. or P.L. Eng.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Chemical Engineering is required;
- Minimum 15 years of Instrumentation & Controls discipline experience within an EPC environment including at least 5 years of discipline lead experience
- Registration in other Canadian jurisdictions or P.E. registration in a US state is considered as asset.
- Proficiency and a solid understanding of all pertinent Canadian codes, standards, guidelines and best practices
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
