POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Manager, Human Resources and Administration Overview of Responsibility: This position leads the human resources services for CUA and its subsidiaries, including the development and implementation of applicable strategies, policies and programs that support the vision and values of the organization. This role also coordinates and executes prescribed administrative activities for executive management, operations and corporate support functions within CUA, GBC and IFS.
Key Results Areas: KRA 1: Human Resources Policy and Program Development - Working with the CEO, develop appropriate human resources strategies that support the recruitment, retention and engagement of the workforce that enables the achievement of CUA’s business objectives. Translate the strategies into well-defined and documented programs, processes and procedures, with proactive identification of enhancements in these areas. Annually review and update the Human Resources Management Policy and the Code of Conduct and Corporate Ethics Policy to ensure they are appropriate, relevant and align with the organization’s objectives. KRA 2: Human Resources Program Execution – Ensure the timely and accurate execution of human resources programs, including payroll; benefits; occupational health and safety; staff communications; defined performance management process; annual employee engagement survey and report; support function assessments; and, other elements contained in the Human Resources Management Policy. KRA 3: Recruitment, Onboarding and Departure Processes Implementation – Manage the recruitment process, executing defined tasks and ensuring the hiring managers have the support and tools to carry out their respective steps. Develop, enhance and update CUA’s Corporate Onboarding Program to assist in the knowledge development of new employees. Execute accurately and in a timely manner the defined onboarding process for new employees and the defined departure process for employees leaving CUA.
KRA 4: Administrative Operations and Execution – Ensure the execution of a range of day-to-day administrative activities, including: preparation of documents and reports for internal and external parties, including the Board, the Regulator and system partner organizations; management of the Bring Forward system to ensure required documents or information is submitted and distributed when required; ordering and distribution of office and branch supplies and related invoice processing, coordinating repairs and maintenance of furniture and equipment; and, interaction with suppliers, with an annual review of the key vendor arrangements to confirm they are meeting CUA’s needs and are the most cost-effective option.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Commerce or related degree; or, a Diploma in Human Resources Management, including a minimum of five years’ experience in a Human Resources role and three years’ in a supervisory function; or, an equivalent combination of training and experience. CPHR designation considered an asset but not a requirement. Competency Requirements: Strong knowledge of current human resources practices and related legislation, including compensation and benefits, recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning and employee pension plans. Superior administrative capabilities, with exceptional ability to organize and execute a high volume of work, optimizing productivity and outputs. Excellent analytical, communications and leadership skills. Expert proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Exceptional customer orientation and interpersonal skills.
Solid prioritization, multi-tasking and problem solving skills.
Key Relationships: · Reports directly to the President & CEO. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and Administration: Human Resources Officer, Administrative Assistant position.
