If you need accommodation at any point during the recruitment process, please inform our Talent team and we'll collaborate with you to address your requirements.  Position Summary This position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a corporate Energy Management System in alignment with ISO 50001 standards. This position is part of the Sustainable Energy & Adaptation branch. Strong Project Management and Energy Management experience is essential for this position.Key Duties & Responsibilities

Manage implementation of the Energy Management System project, including schedules, deliverables, funding requirements and contract administration. Engage staff across the corporation to establish and implement an Energy Management System and lead the organization through ISO 50001 certification. Work directly with consultants, vendors and other stakeholders. Lead the development of technical requirements for equipment and specialized software. Establish energy policies, baselines, targets, and documentation required to support certification and ongoing system management. Implement and manage a corporate energy data and monitoring system to track all utility consumption and energy performance across the corporation including, but not limited to, municipal facilities, parks lighting, street lighting, etc. Monitor and report on energy performance, savings, and progress toward corporate energy and emissions reduction goals. Develop dashboards and reports that support energy benchmarking, decision-making, and greenhouse gas reporting. Identify lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen and expand energy management practices across municipal facilities. Lead all budgetary and financial reporting needs of the project. Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs across municipal facilities. Support and make recommendations for energy performance integration into facility operations, upgrades, and capital planning. Perform related work as required. Key Qualifications

The knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of a University Degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or similar program. Professional designations such as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent are considered an asset. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in energy management, building systems, sustainability programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to express ideas effectively both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong analytical skills. Proven ability to effectively work independently in a demanding day-to-day environment. Project management knowledge, skills, and abilities. Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization and elected officials. Experience working in teams to plan, execute and report on energy management activities. Experience building energy monitoring systems, analyzing utility data, completing energy audits, leading energy retrofits, and building energy performance benchmarking. Experience working with ISO standards and/or ISO 50001 is considered an asset. Municipal government experience is an asset but not required. Working/Other Conditions

Work is primarily conducted within City facilities and office environments. Occasional off-site meetings with internal and external stakeholders are required. The role involves collaboration across departments and may include participation in external committees or community engagements. No unusual physical or environmental demands are associated with this position.
