About the role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Work setting: Industrial facility or establishment. Tasks: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Transport items throughout plant using powered equipment. Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually . Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers. Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials. Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Read and interpret work orders. Oversee the receiving, sorting, routing and delivery of mail. Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials. Analyze technical documents and reports. Load and unload vehicles using forklift or dolly. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
