Pay: CA$25.00 - CA$40.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: 40 Hours a week - Monday to Friday
Role Overview
As an Electronic Security Technician, you will play a crucial role in designing, installing, and maintaining electronic security systems to ensure the safety and security of our clients' premises. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality electronic security solutions. Our technicians carry out installations of various systems across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to the following; CCTV Access Control Communications (Network Infrastructure) Networking Nurse Call RTLS
Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic security systems, with a focus on CCTV and Access Control technologies. Configure and program security devices to meet client specifications and project requirements. Conduct site surveys to assess the security needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful implementation of security systems. Pulling of network infrastructure including – Fibre optics, communications infrastructure, and various low voltage cabling. Provide technical support and training to end-users on the operation and maintenance of security equipment. Perform regular system inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Respond promptly to service calls and address any technical issues or malfunctions. Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electronic security. Compliance with Limerock Security’s H&S policies and programs. This role requires occasional outside of Ottawa to maintain project delivery within our service areas and projects.
Minimum Qualifications
High school Diploma. 1 to 3 years experience as an Electronic Security Technician, with a focus on CCTV and Access Control systems. Valid drivers license. Police background check will be required post-hiring. Proficient knowledge of security system components, including cameras, access control panels, and related hardware. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Electronics or networking certification from an accredited organization. Secret (Level II) Clearance. Project management experience and/or accreditations through the Project Management Institute (PMI). Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite (Excel, Word & Outlook). Experience with structured cabling & low-voltage terminations.
