Job#: 2083579 Job Description: Supply Chain Operational Excellence Lead Apex Systems is a large staffing and consulting firm and we are looking for a Supply Chain Operational Excellence Lead with a background in Supply Chain in the Biotech or Pharma industries, strong knowledge of continuous improvement for supply chain processes (Lean Six Sigma knowledge), knowledge of GMP/GxP compliance, and experience with cross-collaboration on strategic supply chain improvements in manufacturing to place at our Biopharma client.

Contract/Perm & duration: 6-month contract (potential for extension or conversion to FTE)
Location: Downtown Toronto
The Supply Chain Operational Excellence Lead will support the Supply Chain Management function through a period of capability development. Reporting into the Director of Supply Chain, this role will execute strategic initiatives across multiple areas of Technical Operations such as reporting and dashboard development, leading continuous improvement initiatives, integrating into risk management workstreams, KPI development, and business process review. This role will also support tactical efforts around project management and compliance. The ability to balance developing strategy and implementation activities is a key aspect of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Support supply chain planning functions through a period of growth and capability building. Integrate into continuous improvement efforts across Technical Operations with a wide variety of scope. Experience in a GMP environment and operationalizing phase appropriate solutions will streamline the on boarding process.
- Leading kaizen events and supporting a culture of continuous improvement will be a primary focus. Scope will include ownership of the entire process from intake, prioritization, action planning, change management, and effectiveness monitoring
- Lead efforts to support metric development for supply chain planning, logistics, and clinical supply. Delivering tools and solutions for digital visualization of KPI as the function manages multiple system implementations
- Provide support for cross functional compliance and risk management activities. Acting as a matrix team lead on these efforts, ensuring alignment with broader supply chain team.
- Lead business process reviews for materials management activities including material flows, ERP change management activities, logistics operations, and clinical supply.
- Support team efforts in the area compliance and quality mindset. Experience with issue management, investigation, and CAPA development/monitoring will be a plus.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in a safe and compliant manner considering relevant BlueRock procedures/policies, regulatory guidance, and current practices (GMPs) for all aspects of Supply Chain and Logistics.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in scientific discipline or related field is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of related or equivalent work experience in supply chain or technical operations role is required.
- Experience working in GxP pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology regulated environment is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Experience in working with electronic systems such as ERP, LIMS, CMMS, WMS is required.
