About the Role This is a one-year contract, full-time role. The BI Data Analyst is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that drive data accuracy, operational performance, and regulatory compliance across key initiatives such as the Common Collection System (CCS) and Scope 3 reporting. This role partners closely with Operations, IT, and external stakeholders to design scalable Power BI dashboards, streamline data workflows, and ensure reliable insights that support business and environmental objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data models using Microsoft Power BI and Azure Databricks/Fabric, transforming and integrating data from multiple systems to support operational and business analytics.
  • Validate and reconcile operational, audit, and financial data across inbound and outbound systems; ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance for all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Create, automate, and maintain standard and ad-hoc Power BI dashboards and reports that enable data-driven decision-making for CCS, Scope 3, and Track & Trace projects.
  • Lead monthly and annual CCS data validation cycles, distribute reports to Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), address feedback, and collaborate with KPMG and internal teams on audit verification activities.
  • Develop new Scope 3 customer-facing reports based on evolving business requirements, implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and validation checks to ensure secure, accurate data access.
  • Identify data inconsistencies, duplication, or inefficiencies across existing reports; recommend and implement process improvements that enhance data accuracy, usability, and reporting efficiency.
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Product Development, and Continuous Improvement teams to resolve data issues, fulfill reporting needs, and align analytics outputs with business objectives.
  • Lead the training and upskilling of internal and external users on Power BI tools, data systems, and reporting best practices to build organizational data literacy.
  • Support multiple departments by delivering data analysis, insights, and reporting that inform operational decisions and strategic planning.
  • Other duties as assigned

What we need from you Requirements

  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, engineering, or mathematics
  • A minimum of 3 to 5years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field
  • Fundamental understanding of data repositories and data processes, both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Power BI skills (e.g., data visualization, relational databases, SQL, DAX, Power Query, and similar BI tools)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate is considered an asset
  • Confident in the Microsoft Office environment, especially Excel. Experience with pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting, array formulas, etc. considered an asset
  • Data Studio and/or other connector tools
  • Strong data analysis skills with a holistic business view to suggest improvements and corrections
  • Strong organizational skills and customer service-focused
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
