Position Title: Group Leader

Location: Watson YMCA Kids Club (45305 Watson Rd, Chilliwack, BC VZR 2H5)

Term: Seasonal Contract, Full-Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Shift: Monday - Friday, Shifts will vary between 7:30am & 5:30pm

Start Date: June 26th, 2026

End Date: August 28th, 2026

Salary: $23.14 per hour

Reports To: Team Leader

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we’re looking for you! YMCA Day Camp Group Leaders enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced environment facilitating activities and games for children ages 5 - 12.

Major Responsibilities - in this position, you will**:**

  • Facilitate games and activities for campers
  • Engage and build relationships with campers
  • Ensure all campers are safe and supervised at all times
  • Follow all YMCA policies and procedures
  • To be Professional (be on time, appropriately dressed, ensure confidentiality, etc.)

Qualification - you bring**:**

  • Experience working with children ages 5-12

  • Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR – B or C & AED

  • 20 hours of training in Child Development and/or Child Guidance

  • Available to work full time hours for entire contract

  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references

  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.

Canada Summer Job Criteria

  • Be between 19 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents**.**
