About the role

#####Position Summary

Bring your project management, creative problem solving and team leadership expertise to this exciting role with our Capital Projects (UHNBC Tower) team.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, IT Projects & Portfolio Management, the IMIT Project Manager, Capital Projects is responsible for planning, developing, and facilitating the implementation of a variety of technology projects related to the migration and integration of all Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, programs, and systems within capital building projects. The IMIT Project Manager facilitates the activities of project teams and stakeholders through the project processes associated with initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling and project close out. The incumbent has responsibility for analysis, assessment and documentation of IMIT requirements, systems workflow and process redesign activities, coordination of project activities, and contributes to the management and maintenance of project plans, schedules, status reports and budgets associated with IMIT related issues and programs. The IMIT Project Manager has a special focus in complex technological areas such as infrastructure, hardware, connectivity, and security as they relate to the integration and/or transformation of NH information systems to capital building projects.

Starting salary will be approximately from $90,770 to $113,462 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

#####Qualifications

  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Health Informatics and five (5) years IT project management experience in a large unionized public sector environment.

  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) form the Project Management Institute (PMI) considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large projects in information systems using formal project management processes and techniques.

  • Experience with implementing business and process changes in a public sector environment and experience with information systems analysis and design procedures and techniques.

  • Understanding of NH’s business, principles and procedures.

  • Understanding of infrastructure hardware such as networks, storage, processing, and cabling.

  • Familiarity with data centres / server rooms, environmental systems, and security.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and client relationship skills.

  • Effective meeting management skills.

  • Supervisory or managerial experience and ability to provide team leadership.

  • Knowledge and practice in effective problem solving techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of departments and technical, operational and vendor staff.

  • Ability to effectively work with and motivate individuals having different knowledge and skills as well as special interest groups.

  • Ability to develop and deliver formal change management practices.

  • Excellent presentation, writing and communication skills.

  • Excellent listening, coaching, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proficient use of various project management tools, applications and processes.

  • Effective operation of computer software and peripheral equipment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel.

  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
