We specialize in residential, commercial, industrial, and temporary works projects, with a strong focus on delivering responsive service and practical designs.
We are seeking a motivated Structural Drafting Co-op Student to join our team for the Fall 2026 semester. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience preparing structural drawings for a variety of residential projects while working closely with Professional Engineers.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist our engineers in preparing structural drawings and project documentation, including: Preparing structural drawings using AutoCAD. Drafting residential additions and renovations. Preparing drawings for load-bearing wall removals and beam installations. Drafting foundation repairs and underpinning details. Preparing temporary shoring and excavation support drawings. Drafting structural repairs for residential buildings. Revising drawings based on engineer markups. Preparing permit and construction drawing packages. Assisting with site measurements and existing condition drawings, when required. Organizing project files and preparing PDF drawing packages. Assisting engineers with various drafting and technical tasks.
Qualifications
Applicants must: Be enrolled in an Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Building Engineering Technology, or a related program. Be eligible for a Fall 2026 co-op work term through their educational institution. Have working knowledge of AutoCAD. Be proficient with Microsoft Office. Have strong attention to detail and good organizational skills. Be able to work independently and as part of a team. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Throughout your co-op term, you will gain practical experience in: Residential structural drafting. Structural detailing for wood, steel, and concrete construction. Foundation repair and underpinning design. Temporary shoring design. Permit drawing preparation. Coordination with engineers, architects, contractors, and homeowners. Professional drafting standards used in structural engineering consulting. You will work directly with experienced Professional Engineers on projects from initial concept through permit and construction.
