About the role

We are looking for an individual to join our growing team who is eager, confident, has an eye for detail and is self-led. We have** a 12 month terms available**. As a Mortgage Documentation Officer, you demonstrate excellency in reviewing and approving mortgage conditions and documentation in a paperless environment to ensure policy, regulatory and audit requirements are satisfied. You are extremely organized and possess an intrinsic drive to provide high value customer service to referral sources.

Your Role:

  • Reviewing, validating and approving conditions for files including various Income Types, Down Payment, Title Searches, Credit Bureaus, Purchase documents, Company Documentation, Condominium Documentation
  • Being accountable for fraud detection and ensuring a satisfactory inspection and audit.
  • Reviewing and signing off on any Solicitor conditions.
  • Ensuring adherence to bank protocols, procedures, regulatory, and AML requirements
  • Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with tight timelines, providing service levels influenced by and in line with incoming volumes and team capacity
  • Driving the application pipeline forward through consistent follow-up on all “approved” files through analysis of the scheduled funding report on a weekly basis.
  • Maintaining a 24-hour turnaround time for communication ‘touchpoints’.
  • Crafting efficiencies and challenge the status quo by providing alternative document solutions that are within protocol and in collaboration with the customer/referral source
  • Supporting underwriters and business development managers in closing deals.

Requirements:

  • Business administration diploma or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years mortgage documentation review experience. Understanding of Alt –A lending practices is an asset.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, compliance, regulatory and AML requirements around fraud detection.
  • Shown experience in reviewing conditions for mortgage files (Income, Down Payment, Title Searches, Credit Bureaus, Purchase documents, company and condominium documentation).
  • Knowledge of Mortgage life cycle for conventional, high ratio, and HELOC residential mortgages.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with the ability to prioritize in a high risk, fast paced, team culture.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently; both written and verbal.
