We’re looking for a frontend-focused engineer to own the user experience and lead the development of our product’s user interface, working directly with the CTO to build our AI-powered platform from the ground up.

Settled Technologies is building the Agentic Operating System for Dispute Resolution. Our platform combines AI and automation to help industries and governments resolve complex disputes faster, more fairly, and at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work in partnership with our CTO to shape and build our product collaboratively:

• Own the Frontend Architecture:

  You will be the primary driver of our frontend stack. You'll make key decisions and lead the charge in building a scalable, modern, and delightful user interface. While we currently use Alpine.js, we expect you to lead the transition to a more robust framework like React.

• Build End-to-End Features:

  Take ownership of shipping product features from the UI widgets and components. You'll be expected to contribute to the back-end, but with a heavy weight towards frontend.

• Champion the User Experience (UX):

  You will be the voice of the user in all product and technical discussions. You'll translate complex AI processes into simple, guided, and intuitive workflows for our customers.

• Collaborate on Product Strategy:

  Your insights into user interaction and product design will directly influence our roadmap, ensuring we build a product that people love to use.

Who We're Looking For

• Deep Frontend Expertise:

  You have 4+ years of experience building, testing, and shipping modern, component-based user interfaces with frameworks like React, Vue, or Svelte

  . You have a strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and CSS, with experience using utility-first frameworks like Tailwind CSS.

• Full-Stack Capability:

  You are comfortable working on the backend when needed and have experience with frameworks like Laravel, Rails, or Django.

• Product and Design Sensibility:

  You obsess over the user experience and have a keen eye for UI/UX design. You don't just build what's on the spec; you challenge it and make it better for the user.

• Ready for Mobile:

  You have experience with or a strong interest in React Native, as you will help us lay the foundation for a future mobile application.

• Empowered and Collaborative:

  You thrive in an autonomous environment and take initiative, but also value clear communication, feedback, and working effectively within a small, experienced team.

• High AI Fluency: You use AI daily as part of your personal workflow and think strategically about how to use it to deliver user-facing value that wasn't possible a couple years ago.
