Position Summary

  • The Product Manager, MedTech reports to the Sr. Director, MedTech in the MedTech department
  • The Product Manager, MedTech, implements the national marketing strategy and achieves growth and sales objective targets for Fresenius Kabi Canada Ltd.’s (the Company) MedTech portfolio (comprised of the Infusion & Nutrition Systems and Transfusion Medicine & Cell Therapies portfolios). The Product Manager, MedTech coordinates marketing and sales initiatives as required by the needs of the business in order to drive market penetration and achieve market share targets.
  • Product management activities vary as required by the needs of the business and may include projects related to strategic planning, customer presentations, request for proposal (RFP) and bid preparation, product evaluations, product implementations, training, convention and trade show coordination, product catalogue production and distribution, website support, and price and sales analysis
  • The Product Manager, MedTech works with the Sr. Director, MedTech to develop and revise MedTech budgets and forecasts. The Product Manager, MedTech develops relationships with key clinical leaders and industry partners and collaborates with Global entities in order to support the growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops relationships with thought leaders in MedTech within the Canadian market.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the future pipeline products and their requirements, i.e., competitive landscape, local regulatory requirements, pricing and market dynamics, barriers to entry. Contribute to the global MedTech strategy, especially in the presentation of Canadian needs in the annual R&D planning process with business case justification.
  • Drives the Company’s market position and assists customer in decision- making by positioning solution-based product portfolio offering, cost effectiveness, efficiency and convenience within overall operational model
  • Manages, supports and implements the sales process as required from proposal to contract negotiation and re-sign effectively
  • Works with the Sr. Director, MedTech to prepare national plan to deliver the Company’s strategy and results, identifying emerging trends and market opportunities
  • Prepares account plans to deliver the Company’s strategy and results, ensuring ongoing understanding of overall customers’ financial strategies, measures and constraints and actively seeks ways to increase the customers’ efficiency and profitability
  • Becomes product expert for the Company portfolio
  • Conducts and coordinates in-service for the Company portfolio. This includes instruction regarding technical set-up and clinical usage of product as well as preparation and delivery of sales presentations related to the Company’s solutions and products.
  • Travels domestically and internationally as required
  • Accountable and responsible for achieving sale targets/commitments
  • Assigns tasks and responsibilities to team members involved in the sales process including researching, identifying and qualifying potential leads, presentations and product demonstrations, supportive activities for account management, RFP support, training requirements, gathering of market intelligence
  • Internally there is interaction with staff and management of all local and regional internal departments including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and Scientific Affairs as applicable
  • Externally there is interaction with Fresenius Kabi Global Product Management, other Fresenius Kabi affiliates, consultants, vendors, etc.
  • Responsible for the following goals: drive sales revenue, expand customer base, improve customer satisfaction, optimize sales processes, foster collaboration and teamwork, and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Maintains up-to-date training designated for this position and training documents for reporting positions via KabiLift, FLC and Wellnet (LMS User and Curriculum Change Notice Forms, Training Documentation Forms, and On the Job Training Forms)
  • Ensures timely communication of complaints to the Quality department and Adverse Drug Reactions to the Vigilance department as per Standard Operating Procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a health discipline or healthcare/scientific field (e.g., PharmD, BSc, MHSc, PhD)
  • 5 or more years of experience exhibiting a progression in responsibilities
  • Prior experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of device regulations is required
  • Risk management or quality management principles, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in SAP and non-conformance applications is an asset
