Job Summary Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical & Chief Nursing Executive, the Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating professional practice excellence, patient and family experience, patient safety, quality, risk & legal management, and accreditation activities across the organization. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, and the development of a just culture. The manager provides strategic oversight for clinical educators, clinical scholars, clinical externs & float team, manages patient feedback and complaints, oversees risk mitigation and legal processes, and leads accreditation preparedness.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing required; a Master’s degree (or in progress) in the fields of Health Sciences, Business, Leadership, or Quality Management strongly preferred.
  • Current registration in good standing with The College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Certification in chosen specialty (e.g., CNA), Quality Management, Health Law, Project Management Program, Change Management, Six Sigma, Lean, or Risk Management strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in an acute healthcare setting, with 2+ years in progressive leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Experience leading accreditation cycles, risk management, patient safety, and complaints management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare legislation, accreditation standards, and discipline-specific standards of care.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute professional practice, patient experience, risk management, and quality initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy in relevant applications (Word, Excel, Meditech, performance management software).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional and personal development.

Hours of Work : Monday - Friday. Weekend work may be required as needed.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is located in the community of Alliston, in the Town of New Tecumseth, Ontario. Situated one hour north of downtown Toronto, this fully accredited hospital offers 38 inpatient beds and a wide range of outpatient services. Stevenson serves a catchment area that includes Adjala-Tosorontio, Canadian Forces Base Borden, Essa, Innisfil, and New Tecumseth.
