We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior DevOps Engineer to join our IT team in Langley, BC.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Applications Support, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, help shape our DevOps Center of Excellence (CoE), and guide a small, collaborative DevOps practice with enthusiasm and a continuous improvement mindset. You will champion automation, modern tooling, engineering standards, and cross-team enablement to drive long-term operational and development efficiency.

In this role, you will play a strategic and hands-on role at the intersection of software development, infrastructure, and IT operations. This position will enhance software delivery performance, elevate engineering maturity, and advance DevOps best practices across the organization

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical leadership for DevOps initiatives, guiding architecture, standards, patterns, and tooling decisions.
  • Leading and evolving the DevOps Center of Excellence, establishing best practices, reusable frameworks, and shared services that improve consistency and accelerate delivery across teams.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions to automate and streamline software delivery.
  • Developing configuration management and automation using Ansible to deploy and maintain systems and applications.
  • Building and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform in collaboration with Cloud and Infrastructure teams.
  • Optimizing and monitoring cloud environments (Azure), emphasizing cost efficiency, resilience, autoscaling, and resource optimization.
  • Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Nagios and Splunk to ensure system health and reliability.
  • Mentorship, coaching, and troubleshooting support to developers, administrators, and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborating enthusiastically with development, cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to improve productivity, consistency, and delivery processes.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at evolving the SDLC through automation, observability, and platform engineering.

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • 3+ years of system administration experience.
  • 3+ years managing Azure Cloud services.
  • Proficiency with Linux, Windows, Bash, PowerShell, Java.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling including GitHub Actions, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience designing and improving SDLC processes using automation.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including driving architectural decisions, mentoring others, and influencing best practices.
  • Experience contributing to or establishing a DevOps Center of Excellence or similar engineering enablement function.

$114,220.00 - $152,293.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
