About the role
Security Systems SOC Operator
The Security Systems SOC Operator is responsible for supporting the Security Technology team with service coordination, Tier 1 systems troubleshooting, administrative tasks, testing, and vendor coordination. This position plays a key role in maintaining the daily operations of our Healthcare client's security systems and ensuring timely support for service requests.
In addition, this role functions as a Security Operation Centre Operator with call/dispatch of security resources at Healthcare sites, alarm monitoring, and a variety of related escalation and administrative functions when security system workloads decrease.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0800-1600hrs
Pay Rate: $25.25/hour
Work Location: This position will be based fully in-office (West Broadway & Cambie area)
Key Responsibilities
Primary - Security System Service
Systems Service & Support
- Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting for security systems (access control, alarms, CCTV, etc.)
- Conduct scheduled or on-demand system testing and inspections
- Manage and triage incoming service and project tickets
- Monitor and process the Security Systems Service email inbox
- Perform centralized access control changes on request
Internal & External Coordination
- Coordinate with external vendors for service calls, inspections, and SLA requirements
- Liaise with internal departments as necessary for service-related activity
- Support security systems projects by ensuring operational and end-user needs are met
Administrative Support
- Prepare and process security systems for service-related invoices
- Assist with inventory management for devices, equipment, and spares
- Track service calls, preventative maintenance activities, and project tasks
- Assist with developing and maintaining security systems documentation and user guides
Training & Education Support
- Contribute to training and education programs related to security systems
Secondary - SOC Operator
- Call/Dispatch of security resources at Healthcare sites
- Alarm monitoring and alarm triage
- SOC related escalations and administrative functions
- System status awareness and non-urgent system-related tasks
- Provide Tier 1 systems support to help SOC with minor troubleshooting
- Maintain communication with SOC and Security Technology teams on relevant system updates
Qualifications & Competencies
- Knowledge of security systems such as access control, alarms, and CCTV
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, especially in a service-based environment
- Excellent communication skills with staff, vendors, and security personnel
- Ability to follow technical procedures and escalation protocols
- Detail-oriented with strong administrative accuracy
- Experience with service ticketing systems and workflow management tools
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools such as SharePoint, Lists, Excel, and related applications
