Your Opportunity And Responsibilities As a translation and review expert, you’ll apply your skills to a range of technical and creative documents in procurement, HR, IT, policy, finance and other fields. Among other activities, you will:
- Translate and review texts for DCC service lines and business units
- Perform translation quality control to ensure concordance, accuracy, clarity, etc.
- Support development and maintenance of a comprehensive terminology management database
- Support development and implementation of innovative translation processes
- Stay up to date with DCC-related terminology
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal clients, external suppliers and networks
Your Skills And Experience
- Minimum: university degree in translation or related field
- Experience: At least four years in editing, translation and use of translation software, preferably in an agency setting
- Professional working knowledge of:
- translation software and terminology management databases
- current translation trends and best practices
- project- and client-management best practices
As the successful candidate, you may fulfill your role in hybrid mode (2 days a week in the office) if you live in the National Capital Region. You may also work remotely in Canada (within easy commuting distance of a major centre or travel hub).

To begin a career with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. As a condition of employment with DCC, a minimum reliability security status clearance is required and some roles may require secret security status clearance.
DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process . Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints.
