Job Description:
Position Summary
The Customs Brokerage Representative is responsible for processing customs releases and/or confirming declarations for repetitive and non-complex shipments using the CCBS system. This role supports smooth and compliant import operations by ensuring accurate data entry, proper documentation, and effective communication with internal teams, customers, and government agencies.
Job-Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Modality: Remote
Workdays: Friday to Tuesday
Work hours: 9:00pm - 5:30am
Starting rate: $17.85/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customs releases and/or confirm declarations for shipments, creating or modifying line codes/classifications in the CCBS system.
- Handle delivery service requests, import permits, and ensure timely submission of required documentation to government authorities.
- Open and maintain customer files, validate information, and support credit and invoicing processes.
- Collect and verify supplementary documentation from customers, drivers, customs offices, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in customer profiles.
- Respond to routine inquiries from customers, drivers, customs, and related parties.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, UPS SCS employees, carriers, and inbound agents to ensure efficient customs operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months to 2 years of relevant experience in customs, logistics, or related fields.
- Bilingual (intermediate or higher), required in Quebec.
- Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, regulations, and other government department requirements.
- Familiarity with the Harmonized System (HS) of tariff classification.
- Proficient in basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
