The Role:
Are you a passionate advocate for Indigenous economic reconciliation? Are you known for your innovative and motivational mindset? Inlailawatash is seeking a dynamic negotiations coordinator who thrives in ever-changing environments and possesses the ability to handle a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:

Support the organization and administrative requirements of the Indigenous Community Support & Fisheries departments.

Support regularly the initiatives and functions of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Protocol Working Group.
-
Draft Briefing Notes and other materials for leadership.
-
Coordinate major project negotiation files for the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
-
Support the implementation of TWN Impact Benefit Agreements and other related Accommodation Agreements.
-
Collaborate with senior leaders, legal advisors, and other third-party consultants on complex negotiation files.
-
Contribute to strategic planning and organization of the negotiation process.

Participate and support senior leaders in major project negotiation files and meetings.

Present materials to Indigenous communities and leadership (Council)

Education/Experience

Post-secondary degree or graduate degree in Indigenous governance/studies, business, legal or a negotiation-related discipline is an asset.

Experience in a related field with some direct experience in negotiations and Indigenous community outreach.
Technical Skills

Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a high-performance team. Involving strong interpersonal & public speaking.

Ability to generate innovative solutions using insight and creativity to inform strategies and plans.
Working Conditions:
Physical Demands
-
Significant desk work with extended periods of computer work (virtual and in-person meetings).
-
Regular travel to meetings in the Metro Vancouver area.
Mental Focus
-
Synthesize complex and diverse information.
-
Remain calm, professional, objective, and constructive.
-
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Ability to work under pressure.
Environmental Conditions

Dynamic environment with multiple demands, changing priorities and regular interruptions.

Involvement with confidential/sensitive information and other issues requiring situational, commercial, and social awareness.

Some flexibility in work hours is expected.

Engagement within departments, First Nation governments, and levels of Crown government.
Travel: Although this position is primarily office-based, there will be a portion of time spent on site visits, including travel and occasional overnight stays.
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, overtime as required.
Expected Start Date: ASAP, willing to wait for the right candidate.
Compensation: $27-32/h CAD; Plus, Extended Health Benefits & Pension Plan
